There are currently two schoolman Apps published on the AppStore:
Army Badges has been around for seven years and has at least two updates per year. Whilst it may not be the most popular app ever published, well over 1,000 of the lifetime sales of 1,200 copies are still installed! Current development plans are:
- Complete working head-dress. The only work remaining is to make sure that the flashes on berets behind badges are the correct shape and colour.
- Complete UOTCs and medal images. The ones that are left are difficult and typically take four hours each.
- Add ceremonial head-dress, cadet forces' badges, and lanyards.
- Re-implement in Swift/SwiftUI.
Console Wizard was first published in 2019 and has a small, but dedicated following amongst Range Conducting Officers and ETR Console Operators. It provides timed, spoken and visual prompts to deploy and drop targets in the correct sequence, duration and repetition. Complex, multiple-practice qualification and competition shoots are included and updates issued via iCloud; but the app enables private versions to be made and shared amongst users. Its use is not limited to ranges though, you can store fitness programmes, sports fixtures or anything that requires complex (or simple!) timing and reminders. See Console Wizard on the AppStore.
